When choosing a sports massage therapist there are a few things we recommend
Firstly, take a look at
Our Therapists profiles to see a list of Axiom Therapists experience, qualifications and their own sports history.
Each of our therapists has trained in strength sports techniques, and have a different sporting history. It is very useful to have a sports massage therapist who understands some of the training you undertake, making sure communication about your needs is clear so the best results can be achieved.
Many of our clients prefer a mate or female therapist, however all of our professional therapists treat both men and women. If you have a preference, please let our reception staff know when you are booking your next appointment and they will find the next available with your preferred therapist.
As we have mentioned, there is a difference between a sports massage therapist and a remedial massage therapist ( link to page). An important distinction is that a remedial massage therapist is a member of a professional body such as massage and myotherapy Australia (website) and is health fund accredited.
This means you are able to claim your
sports massage treatment with your health fund to claim a rebate, if you have private health insurance. This also ensures your therapist has undergone further ethics and professional training.
All Axiom therapists are registered Remedial Massage Therapists and as such you can expect the highest standards of professionalism and sports massage therapy.
